These are the four pillars of Intra-Dependant Land 2024 (working title), an upcoming research track made possible as the first awardee of the new Groningen Visual Arts Stipendium Land 2023 (for the working period of 2024).
The activities will be shaped as a set of essential practices rather than a project, in order to alleviate the outcome-oriented mindset of artistic work and to advocate for artistic labour as a durational, urgent practice within society.

Update 1, March 2024:
I have now started the first steps of this work, which take a specific focus on the pillar of Politicised Artistic Commons for the Northern Netherlands creative+ scene. I have started to understand this commons as a commoning-coalition. There is a broad range of intentions of which I would wish to incorporate in this commons, but through reflections over March, the underlining glue seems to be positioning art as a legitimite site for transformational ideas, reflections, frameworks, actions and alternative ethics, that can traverse into various politics. I am moving more towards a coalition because of the friction in the power-dynamics that this might offer - whether that’s through an understanding of the word itself, or through the structural and goal-oriented characteristic of a coalition - and I see potential to combine feminist care ethics with structured pressures (ethical, legal, mandated) that are effective outside of commoning echo chambers.
A lot of my own thoughts need to be figured out before I open up a more democratic process around this commoning-coalition, but for now I intend to keep re-mapping first thoughts and implications.
